It's Me :D

My photo
Mary Mollica, Owner & Artist of The Decorative Paintbrush
Liverpool, New York, United States
I’ve been painting most of my life! My hands are always into something-I live, breath and I'm pretty sure eaten paint! Nope...It's not a hobby, folks :D I started this business in 2009, when I posted my first item on Etsy. I've never looked back. As you can see from my work, I'm in love with color-BOLD-BRIGHT-CRAZY-color, but don't let that shy you away if you're not, because I can adapt to any style and easily create a unique piece of art for your home or office. So,I hope you find inspiration among these pages as i find inspiration in all of you and your wonderful comments! Enjoy!

Custom work

Custom work
I do a lot of work for a very good friend of mine, named Fran! Fran is the best there is and probably my biggest fan. She is always finding fun things for me to do, whether it be a chair, a wall or even a pantry!

The Pantry

The Pantry
As part of 2 Women and a Paintbrush, I get to do a lot of art work on the walls, but this was a first for me, and it would be in Fran's house, she wanted her brand new pantry painted. I took insperation from some ceramic art pieces she had collected, as well as her love of music (I painted piano keys all along the bottom)

Coloring

Coloring
Once I drew the whole project out, I started to color it in, like a big coloring book!

Ugh...more coloring

Ugh...more coloring
It took about 2 weeks to complete, because of all the detail work that needed to be done. Some colors took 6 coats of paint!

Finally! It's done! Yeah!
